Yeh, that's the fate of last year's radicals.  Wagner's political
radicalism, inherent in the text, he toned down considerably as he became
dependent on royal patronage; and his revolutionary artistic concept of a
unification of word, tone, and image into an overwhelming spiritual
experience becomes "Lumber left, lumber right."
