Re: PhilaRAT Conference Carriage Ride Challenge, Conference Plans and Calls f...

Everything will be pretty much within walking distance. The problem is getting back to NYC latenight if places to crash can't be set up.
The last SEPTA R7 train from Market East Stations is:
-- Thurs/Friday PM: 11.45
-- Saturday PM: 11:12 [yes, earlier than weekdays]

There are buses leaving from 11th & Market to NYC later than that.

We'll have some other options out to the full list in a little while. (We have a complete list of hostels, inexpensive hotels, bed and breakfasts that I never knew existed, etc. etc.)

Cheers

FYI for anyone coming from NYC, but in direct response to Cathy's e-mail:

We (Catherine and Barry of Peculiar Works) try to get down to Philadelphia
from NYC fairly regularly and we always take the NJ Transit train from Penn
Station to Trenton where you switch to Southeast Pennsylvania Transit
Authority (SEPTA) which has several stops in Philadelphia, including the main
terminal at 30th Street (?) station. It costs $24 total round-trip (unless
fares have gone up since last September). That's how we're planning to get
there... unless the folks from Philly think we might need a car once we get
there (let us know if we do!).

Also, we are still looking for some sort of transportation...as much as a
car
would be easy for 5 of us, none of us have access to one, and we also are
not
older enough to rent...so, if anyone from NYC has room for 5 extra
bodies...let me know...
