The Rainbow Machine

a comedy by 
Rick Ehrstin

This black comedy explores the troublesome
interactions between marriage, communication and
personal history, as Maddy and Ray, an
intellectual couple in their late thirties,
struggle through a difficult Valentine’s Day. In
the confines of their small bizarre apartment,
the
couple bitterly argues while telephones
(permanently affixed to their chests) doggedly
interrupt them with the loaded baggage of their
pasts.  As each failed attempt at creating a
successful life is exposed, Maddy and
Ray are forced to explore the very basis of their
love and try to understand what is truly
meaningful in their relationship.
