RAT Sick! Sick! Sick! and Shameless Plug for Me! Me! Me!
Hi, all --
For those of you who've asked about it, and those of you who haven't (and
with apologies to BCT-list folks who've already received this), my novel
Radiant Hunger is now available through the blessing of print-on-demand
technology and can be ordered from on-line booksellers and brick-and-mortar
on-the-street bookstores in your neighborhood.
The novel is about the aftermath of a violent cult - its effect on
people's lives decades later. The commercial editors who were interested in
it believed I was one of the Manson children now grown up, and promptly lost
interest when I admitted I'm not. (OK - I shoulda lied. But you know, it's
fiction.) When I read from the work-in-progress in NYC, Laurie Stone wrote in
the Village Voice, "Lefer carves a tattoo in the reader -- a trumpet blast of
distress..." (after which I was advised not to attend an upcoming publishing
party because - as I'm also ashamed to admit - I don't have any actual
tattoos.) No, it's not a
happy little book.
But if you have peculiar tastes... this might be for you.
Thanks for sitting still for this announcement.
Diane Lefer
