RAT Conference meeting Tuesday
RAT Conference meeting Tuesday, February 13 at 7pm at Theatre Double, 1619
Walnut St.
Hi all,
The RAT Conference will grace Philadelphia June 21-24. Anyone interested
in finding out more about what it is and how he or she can become involved
in planning the agenda should attend the meeting tomorrow night.
This will be the seventh major conference. Previous cities hosting
conferences include Iowa City (twice), Seattle, Austin, New York, and Los
Angeles.
Many in RAT are interested in rediscovering the impetus behind their
original gathering. A good overview and introduction to RAT is Erik Ehn's
original proposal and the various theaters' responses in the journal
_Theater_ in 1993.

Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting. Unaffiliated artists and
actors are especially encouraged to attend. In recent years RAT through
its ethic of mutual hospitality has become an important way for individuals
to actively participate and work in the national theater scene even as they
continue contribute to their particular theater community.
Best,
Nick
