ALPINE, Texas - A group of cantankerous, dissatisfied former Democrats, rebellious Republicans and staunch independents today posted an electronic petition calling on Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore to withdraw from the presidential race. The Yellow Dog Greens, said in a statement that Gore's, "hollow, corporation first political agenda is impeding citizens in our struggle to regain control of our democracy, and is spoiling the election for Ralph Nader. We'd rather vote for a yellow dog than for a two-party, corporatefinanced candidate like Gore." Calls this morning to Gore's headquarters in Tennessee were answered, but were mysteriously cut off when Nader's name was mentioned.
