Look Who's Coming to Town:
PLEASE pass this on to people in the neighborhood...
Subject: Sept. 9 & 10
The Seattle Capital Hill area is going to experience
an extreme expression of hatred and ignorance this
weekend, yet it is also the opportunity for many a
lesson in diversity awareness.
Fred Phelps, of Westboro Baptist Church, famous (or
infamous) for his vehement messages of hate towards
gay people is going to be picketing the Seattle First
Baptist Church. You may remember him as the same
person who picketed Matthew Shepard's funeral.
His reason for the visit to Seattle? This comes from
his newsletter:
"Westboro Baptist Church to picket Seattle First
Baptist Church, September 10th to celebrate month 8 in
Hell for two filthy fags killed in Alaska Airlines
crash: Mr. & Mrs. (Ugh!) Pulanco."
This refers to Craig and Paul Pulanco whose memorial
service was held at Seattle First Baptist Church a few
days after their deaths in the Alaska crash.
His website is www.godhatesfags.com.
