RAT Special Reading at Moving Arts 8/30
Hi RATs!
On Wednesday, August 30 at 8pm, Moving Arts will present a special reading
of MURDERERS ARE MY LIFE, a solo piece written and performed by David Scott
Milton.
In 1992, Milton started a writers' workshop on the maximum security yard at
Tehachapi Prison. In his 90-minute solo piece, he recreates the ferocious
and brutal world of the max yard and the inhabitants he encountered there,
including "Tiny" Contreras, "Joker" Mendoza, Elmer "Geronimo" Pratt, and
Lyle Menendez. Milton draws the audience into the degraded, often absurdly
surreal confinement of life in Tehachapi, tracking the destinies of a dozen
killers in a theatre piece that is astonishing, horrifying, funny, and
ultimately very moving.
The reading will be held at Moving Arts' mainstage at the Los Angeles
Theatre Center, Theatre 5C, 514 South Spring St. in downtown Los Angeles.
There is ample parking in the gated lot at 6th and Main.
Admission is free. A discussion will follow the reading.
Please call for reservations: (213) 622-8906, Box 4 (Literary Dept.)
We hope to see you there!
Trey
