Re: RAT religion and politics
"
gun control, death penalty, gay rights -- these are
issues that the president has some sway over"
On Meet the Press Ralph N pointed out that the president controls the
Departments of labor, war, commerce, health, welfare, education,
treasury, etc. Nader is a policy wonk and he wants to focus on universal
health care, access to public land, interest rates, union organizing,
weapons costs.
And these are the policies that corporate money purchases. the president
could use the bully pulpit to rail against the death penalty or for gay
rights -- though none have -- but it would be refreshing to see public
policy that serve the public interest and a bully pulpiteer whose eye is
on the working poor.
My stump speech for Missouri attorney general will focus on the death
penalty and two as-yet-to-be-determined other points. Any suggestions?
