There is no reason to believe the Dems will return to the Left. Clinton got
in by playing the middle. If Bush wins, it'll be because he co-opted the
same strategy. The country is very moderate these days. Gambling that that
will change, when the economy is booming, is a LONG shot. And you give up
judges seats to antichoicers. Not to mention you give up countless other
leftist social causes. All on the dubious hope, that the left will get the
Dems back and the Dems will get the white house back. Whereas, you vote for
Gore, you vote for prochoice justices, slow (which is better than no or
backsliding) social progress and the Republicans are kept at bay. If Bush
gets in and the economy stays strong, he'll be in for 8 years and if Cheney
is a better campaigner than the 2008 Dem, that could be 12 or 16 years. Have
we forgotton 12 years of Reagan/Bush already? Don't go for such a foolhardy
strategy. Vote Gore and continue agitatinng from a position of power.
