Re: RAT Fwd: ZNet Update / Arrestees in Philly, Action Urgently Needed

I won't get into the inherent unfunniness of joking
about putting a bullet in Buchannan's head, especially
since he's the least significant factor in the race
and siphons votes only from Bush.

But I will stand up and say there are many good
reasons for voting for Ralph Nader beyond hoping to
put him in the Oval Office, though that's good enough
for me.

1) If Nader takes 5% (I think that's the right
figure) of the vote in November, then the Green Party
gets matching funds in 2004, a strong step towards
making it a viable third party.

2) In a recent poll tracking the final four, Bush,
Gore, Nader and Buchannan. Bush took something like
48%, Gore 42%, Nader 7%, and Buchannan 3%. Then
another poll was run with just the two front runners.
It wound up being something like Bush 55% and Gore
45%. In other words, without the alternatives, Bush's
lead SPREAD! So don't believe the hype about throwing
your vote away.

3) Gore is as bought and sold by Corporate America as
Bush, perhaps more so. Who's administration pushed
through NAFTA and Free Trade for China? It's
corporate power that you should really fear, not a few
Right Wing wackos.

4) Nader's policies make SENSE. They are clear,
congent, incisive. Read up on them. And you will
WANT to finally stand up and be counted FOR something
for a change, instead of against.

Go NADER!
