Re: RAT questions

I'm caused to remember a scene from my favorite Woody Allen movie,
"Stardust Memories" where our hero has an encounter with alliens of
higher intelligence, and a more advanced galexy. Grasping the
significance of the moment, he begs the alliens for advise and the
secrets of the universe so as to better our human condition. To that
the alliens answer, "You're a commedian, you want to serve humanity?
then tell funnier jokes."

Most police officers are more like Murray the Cop on the old "Odd
Couple" TV show, than action flick police drama characters. Most (the
vast majority) New York City police officers go through their whole
careers, from academy to retirement, without ever once drawing their
weapons. Most people go through their entire lives and do not achieve
the notoriety of Mother Theresa or mass murders. I guess that the
change that they mostly affect is greatest amoung the intimate souls
that they love and hate. All theatre audiences and theatre makers are
probably not unlike most people.
