WWW.JATH.COM GOES LIVE TO RAISE MONEY FOR HOMELESS
Daily, Downloadable Show throws a benefit for
Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger & Homelessness
July 26, 2000 óJeff @ The House, the humorous daily
talk show at www.jath.com, will be leaving the comfort
of its Web Home for a live performance with celebrated
local performers at The 24th Street Theatre to raise
money for the Los Angeles Coalition to End Hunger &
Homelessness.
Jeff @ The House chronicles the life of pro
storyteller, journalist and struggling TV writer Jeff
Favre. Since its inception, Favre has interviewed the
famous (Richard Roeper, co-host of Roger Ebert & The
Movies) and the unusual (a young Irish woman stricken
with "Y2K phobia"). Audiences of up to 30,000 people
from 15 countries visit daily.
For jath.comólive, Favre has invited two seasoned Los
Angeles performers to join the House gang. Chrissy
Sonnek, who grew up in the Dakotas, is a founding
member of the award-winning Subterranean Theatre
Company. Earlier this year Sonnek wrote and starred in
the one-woman show FREAK GIRL at the Eclectic Company
Theatre.
Shannon Bilbray was recently seen in the Busy Beavers
Homemakers Club's ìValley of the Beaversî and is
featured in the pilot ìSingles.î The daughter of a
former congressman, Bilbrayís stories give the
inside-Washington perspective from a childís point of
view.
Jeff Favre, who has performed several one-man shows in
Chicago, will bring the ìHouseî atmosphere to the
stage. ìItíll be just like what you see on the Web,
only more of it and with immediate interaction,î Favre
said. ìWhether we interview audience members or just
spend time making fun of Starbuckís, I think people
will have a blast. Though we could use money to help
maintain the site, we all agreed that being able to
use jath.com to help organizations such as the Los
Angeles Coalition to End Hunger & Homelessness is much
more rewarding.î
Though the growing audience is primarily a grassroots
action, the Jeff @ The House gang has received
attention from Chicago to New Zealand and in between.
Rick Kogan of the Chicago Tribune called the show
"must-see," Roger Avary, film director, said "This is
what the Internet was intended to be," Jeff @ The
House was selected as a ìCool Site of the Dayî at
www.coolsiteoftheday.com and the site was featured in
NetGuide magazine in New Zealand and at Playboy
Online.
The L.A. jath.comólive will be performed August 5,
2000, 7:30 p.m., at The 24th Street Theatre, 1117 W.
24th Street, Los Angeles. Tickets are $15 and all
proceeds will go to the Coalition. For tickets or
reservations, call 310-559-9920, or visit the Website,
