RAT Moving Arts Playreading 6/20

Hi RATs,

On Tuesday, June 20 at 8pm,  Moving Arts will present a reading of THE
EROTIC LIFE OF PROPERTY  by Chicago playwright Carson Grace Becker,
directed by Gleason Bauer.  Featuring DG Bannon, Frankie Cohen, Cameron
McHarg, Timothy Orona, and Melissa Marie Thomas.

In the heart of an urban ghetto, the collision between a computer savvy
prostitute, a mendicant artist from Belfast, and two eccentric orphans
challenges all advertised notions of family, gender, and possession.  THE
EROTIC LIFE OF PROPERTY explores both the shame and the honor marginalized
people experience within our contemporary codes of hierarchy and
materialism.                    As socially defined outcasts, these
characters initally retreat into addiction, isolation, and false pretense.
But self-abuse is transformed into self-worth when the principles of
communion and atonement emerge, as each character confronts their own
fragmentation to reclaim mind, body, and soul.

The reading will be held at Moving Arts' mainstage at the Los Angeles
Theatre Center, Theatre 5C, 514 South Spring St. in downtown Los Angeles.
There is ample parking in the gated lot at 6th and Main.

Admission is free.  A discussion will follow the reading.
