³The End of Human Frailty´by John C. Russell
Itıs sometime in the Future. And Orin wakes knowing that something
incomprehensible is about to happen. Transcendent. Orin wakes,
remembering beauty and for the first time on Earth there is no
darkness, pain or suffering. And nothing is impossible!

"Promenade" by Sarah Schulman
Promenade was inspired by Irene Fornes' play of the same name. I used
her motif of an unexpected action, and the rest wrote itself. The
second scene is one I've used in three plays and two novels, I'm
obsessed with it for some reason and can never use it up.

Sarah Schulman is the author of eight novels. She was a 1984 Fullbright
Fellow in Judaic Studies. For her public service she has received a
Stonewall Award for Contributions Improving the Lives of Gays and
Lesbians in the United States, and a Revson Fellowship for the Future of
New York City at Columbia University. From 1979-1994 Sarah made
theatrical work in the context of the Downtown arts movement. This
included pieces performed at The Pyramid Club, 8BC, Club Chandelier, The
King Tut Wah-Wah Hut, PS 122, Theater for a New City, La Mam, Westbeth,
Here!, The Performing Garage and other emblematic venues of that era.
She is currently developing two plays: The Child directed by Craig Lucas
and Carson McCullers (Sundance Theater Lab 2000). Sarah is also
collaborating on a musical ³Red, White, and Black² with lyricist Michael
Korie and composer Ricky Ian Gordon, based on her novel ³Shimmer².
