Re: RAT Scabs and other wounds in need of healing
Good points as usual, Matt. And, as you say, the distinction between
McCarthy and myself, the moral one to which you refer, makes all the
difference in the world. But, McCarthy didn't invent media manipulation
and keeping names and the like. He simply used it for his own political
gain while furthering a cause he, most assuredly, also believed to be
"right." So, while I may use some of the same tactics used by a
McCarthy, tactics as old as mankind, no doubt, and ones used efficiently
by most effective leaders in the past, from Hitler to the Christ, I hold
that labeling the bahaviour "McCarthyism" gives the man a little bit too
much credit. But thanks for your support. Would love to see any of you
out on the pickets soon. You can get a daily update by calling the SAG
hotline @ 323-460-6124 or logging on to www.sag.org.
Also, a big thanks to Amy Raasch for sending that information out. I
really needed to hear that stuff about the U.S. Cellular action. It's
nice to know we weren't as easily ignored as they pretended.
In solidarity,
Jonathan
