Re: RAT Collaborations question

All, but Daniel and Erik most of all-

Good audience can have size limits but only in relation to the work
presented, or enjoyed, or contributed to. There has to be enough
audience to connect to community and that means having some people in the
room who are not on exactly the same wave length. Cross pollinization of
ideas and beauty being one of the best possiblities of theater and for
that to happen there have to be bees and flowers and then some more
flowers.
The connecting of different arts groups around a similar theme and then
sharing the audience is a wonderful idea and could be even better if the
link is important to a wide range of people. I am less enthusiastic
about an effete sort event around a topic such as art of the Ming dynasty
and rather more about such a thing as taxes.
Placing theater within an event is just the right idea. Much can be
done by close attention to why this play is being done at this point in
the history of this community. Once that is discovered the event can
move from a generic spread of wine and cheese to a specific sort of
integrated event. Along the lines of Triumphal entries into Rome because
of a specific military victory. Everyone knew why they were there and the
event told them who they were.
