A cautionary note: This is mainly an academic conference focusing on 
performance -studies-. Though there likely will be some performance, most of 
the conference is panel-based discussions of PSI issues such as:
    ethnography
    cultural anthropology
    rehearsal field studies
    what is the archive? 
    what is performance studies? 
    
and many far more mundane minutia that (to be mildly cynical for a moment) 
allow us professors to chalk up conference presentation on our tenure files. 

The conference last year in Wales was amazing-- replete with performance, 
analysis, arcane academic investigations, talk backs, bar chats etc . . . I'm 
not sure how Arizona will be but expect a similar variety with probably less 
emphasis on performance itself.
