Well, what set that off was a comment I made about how some of my queer activist
theater friends and I are doing a street theater/protest piece at a rally
against the INS on Valentine's Day. This was in the context of a discussion of
editorial as performance vs. performance as editorial. A friend wished me well;
I made a satirical comment using a mirror of the hyperbole used by the
"christian" right. This was taken as Christian-bashing and set off the bells and
whistles of outrageous fortune that followed. Rather like the discussions we
hope to provoke with our performance on Monday.
Yes, let's talk about theater.
And take it to the streets and the stage.
