RAT Kids' Week at the Theatre

Title: Kids' Week at the Theatre
To all L.A. theatres and theatre companies;

Theatre L.A.  and A.S.K. Theatre  are now accepting theatre participants for a citywide promotional event in effort to introduce young people to the theatre!  It's the 3rd annual Kids' Week at the Theatre, April 30th - May 7th, 2000.  Participating theatres will have their work publicized citywide in Radio, TV and Magazine Ads, in a printed Calendar of Events available at all branch libraries, and on the Kids' Week Website and Hotline.  You may have already heard some of John Lithgow's PSA's on the radio about the event.

How do you participate?  Simple.  Just agree to give two free tickets to kids who come with one paying adult.  You can decide how many free kids tickets you wish to give away.  Just let us know.  And, we're not just looking for children's shows.  If you have a wonderful piece which may be appropriate for teens, but not for younger children, we'll note that in the publicity as well.   And if you don't have a show running, you can still offer a workshop, backstage tour, storytelling session, or anything else that would attract a family audience to your theatre.  Be creative!

Last year over 30 large and small theatres took part- like the Ahmanson, the Odyssey, Bilingual Foundation, the Actor's Gang, 24th Street Theatre, Tiffany Theatres, Fabulous Monsters, Hudson Mainstage, Interact, LA Theatre Works, Matrix Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, and many others.   This year, we want to make it even bigger!
