Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Update

The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus is in the midst of preparing for the 2000 tour season, presenting the Winter Cabaret, editing the winter edition of the Roustabout Reporter, and considering purchasing a theater in upstate New York to become a center for the variety arts.

The April issue of Games magazine is now available at most newstands. It contains an article on contemporary Sword swallowers in the United States including Mr. Pennygaff (Bindlestiffs), along with Johnny Fox (Freakatorium), the Great Fredini (Coney Island), Johnny Meah, Frank Hartman (Coney Island), Natasha Shands (Sword swallowing belly dancer), and others.

Here is a  schedule of coming Cirkus events and a rough draft of the 2000 touring season.

February 2 (Wednesday)
Bindlestiff Family Cirkus
at THE IRON HORSE
Northampton, MA
Mr. Pennygaff and Philomena will be performing throughout the evening at a benefit for The Everywomen's Center Counselor Advocate Program--a 24 hour crisis hotline and one on one or group counseling for victims of trauma or abuse.
The event will feature the following acts: 
Amy Fairchild (Back from NY with great new songs)
The Aloha Steamtrain (Flashback to tomorrow with our local psychedelics)
MC  John Allen (of Big Bad Bollocks fame)
Sue Burkhardt's band Superkart
The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus (Side Show Variety acts)
Doors open at 5:30 for Dinner and Drinks.  Show starts at 7PM.

Winter 2000 Cabaret

The January shows were sold-out successes, so we have added six other dates to the cabaret season. The next cabaret will feature Philomena (ringmistress), Kinko (clown lubricant), Tanya Gagne (Trapeze), Una Mimnagh (corde lisse), Angelo Iodice (Trick Rope Spinner), Torkova (Mentalist and Magician), Tanya Queen of Magic, Rocket Johnny (Daredevil Extraordinaire), Scotty the Blue Bunny, and the Bindlestiff Family Band. The Show will also feature the Arnold Frenzy Flea Cirkus, who traveled from London, England.  Reservations are suggested.

Doors Open at 8:00 pm  Show starts at 8:30 pm
Admission is $10/$7 for Clowns in make-up
