What IS the correct use of semicolons, John? According to certain Grammar Mavens, we don't employ semicolons enough. I, on the other hand, use semicolons whenever I can. It's mostly a feeling thing, but I think I'm using them correctly. Typically, it seems that semicolons are appropriate when the two clauses could be rendered as independent sentences, but the writer wishes to show a special relationship between the two ideas.
Have I got it rightr?
Oh, and I LOVED NIGHTCOIL. There's that speech where he talks about the little man with the "wee wet mouth" that still gives me the willies, eight years after seeing the Annex production. Dave Natalie was great in that play and I am going to have his babies.
