Its disturgbing to me  that in this format, all of us ( msyelf included)
have chosen to focus exclusively on North American ( and Mainly American )
work.

 Is it fair to try to compare ANGELS IN AMERICA, or LONG DAY'S JOURNEY or
even NICKELBY  ( which is my vote for play of the '80's)   to the original
Mahabarata- an epic which lasted 40 days and nights?
 Whither Kanto, Growtowski, Barba? Wither Squat Theater, Robert Wilson?
Whither Noh and Bunraku, and Balinese Shadowplay?
 W Whither Mnouchkine? Whither Butoh?
 Performance Art anyone?
 Are we talikng of theatre, or  theater we understand?
