RAT (bindlestiffs) Bindlestiff Family Cirkus Update


Happy New Year!

Here is a schedule of coming Cirkus events, a rough outline of the spring and summer national tour, a few brief bits of news, and directions to the Winter 2000 Cabaret.

* The Bindlestiff Family Cirkus is featured in the January issue of Details Magazine.
* The April issue of Games magazine, which is scheduled to hit the newstands soon, should contain an article on sword swallowers featuring Keith Nelson of the Bindlestiffs.
* Bindlestiff Family Variety Arts, Inc is now officially a non-profit organization. Send in you tax deductible donations!


Winter 2000 Cabaret
January 13, 14, and 15
at the Loft Theater
38 South 4th St., Williamsburg, Brooklyn, NY
Only a few more days until the Bindlestiff's winter cabaret begins. This months cabaret will feature Philomena (ringmistress), Kinkette (clown lubricant), Una Mimnagh (trapeze), Anna Jack (Russian circus hula hoop extraordinaire), Jeremy Shawl (Bizarre Magician), Mr. Pennygaff (sword swallower), Magic Brian, Scotty the Blue Bunny, and the Bindlestiff Family Band. The other cabaret dates are:
February 10, 11, and 12
March 9, 10, and 11
Doors Open at 8:30 pm Show starts at 9:00 pm
Admission is $10/$7 for Clowns in make-up
For Mature Audiences Only!
Nearest Subway stops are the Marcy Ave J train and the Bedford Ave L train.

The Western/midwestern summer tour route extremely flexible. The Cirkus will leave NY at the beginning of August, and return to NYC on Oct. 1, otherwise, all dates are flexible. Here are a few dates so far.

Bindlestiff Cabaret 2000
Directions:

DRIVING
>From Manhattan Take Delancey Street in the Lower East side to the
Williamsburg Bridge. Then take the first right off bridge onto Broadway.
Go four blocks to Berry. Turn right onto Berry. Go to 3 blocks to S. 4th
St. Turn left onto S. 4th. The theatre is in the middle of the block
between Wythe and Kent on
the left.

FROM QUEENS & THE NORTH
Take 278 west Brooklyn (Queens Expressway) Get
off at the Metropolitan Ave exit. Go straight from off ramp to 2nd light,
turn right onto Metropolitan Ave. Go approximately 8 blocks to Wythe. Turn
left onto Wythe, go 6 blocks to south 4th. Turn right on to S. 4th. The
theatre is in the middle of the block.

FROM NEW JERSEY & THE SOUTH
Take 278 East. Get off at the
Flushing Ave exit off ramp. Go straight to second light. Take a left on Kent
Ave. Go 1.3 miles to S. 3rd. . Turn right onto 3rd. Go one block to
Wythe..
Turn right onto Wythe. Then go one block to S. 4th. The theatre is on the
left, in the middle of the block.

SUBWAY The Loft Theatre is exactly in between the "J" & "L" trains, although the "L" is easier to get here.

FROM MANHATTAN
Take the L to the Bedford Ave. (Brooklyn). Walk south on
Bedford (10 blocks) and take a right on S. 4th. The theatre will be on your
left between Wythe and Kent Streets.

FROM QUEENS
Take the G to Metropolitan Ave. (Brooklyn). Transfer to the L
and take it one stop to Bedford Ave. Walk south on Bedford (10 blocks) and
take a right on S. 4th. The theatre will be on your left between Kent and
Wythe Streets.
