 Hi,
I am also responding to Donna's survey..
I am a professional theater artist in Dallas, and I use the term 'THEATER
ARTIST"
loosely, becauase although I perform any number of artistic functions (such
as acting, directing, and costuming) my tasks usually include cleaning the
toilets before the patrons arrive too..Well, not always but a lot of the
times, so I guess it should be
theater slave.
I also work for a wonderful organization in Dallas that integrates the arts
into the schools thru educational theater.(the very one that Donna works
for), right now as an artist, but hopefully in a larger capacity in the near
future..and I can vouch for the fact that the show Donna is in is good..in
fact, its very good. (I am in it too)
I don't think that every piece of theater has to be socially or politically
relevant. Let's face it, TUBES was just plain wierd, but fun. If a playwright
chooses to make some kind of social statement, then it better be wrapped up
in a good package other wise hand me a pamphlet..That all I have say.

P.S. I am also a full time mother of two kids(4and 3)..That's my real job
