RAT in case you haven't heard

Over the next couple of weeks, the city of Los Angeles will be throwing a big fat party to celebrate theatre.  Hitch a ride, hop on a plane, whatever.  But BE THERE.

The Edge of the World Theater Festival kicks off with an opening party on Saturday, Nov 6 from 4pm to 7pm, featuring Rob Kendt's band Millhouse.  (Kendt is the editor in chief of Back Stage West.)  The party will be at the Stock Exchange, 618 South Spring Street, downtown Los Angeles.

The festival itself runs from Nov 7 to Nov 14 and features 50 shows in 20 venues throughout Los Angeles.  A complete festival listing is available at www.edgeoftheworld.org, or in the upcoming issue of Back Stage West.

Also not to miss: the Artist / Critics / Audience Roundtable, a moderated discussion between the three groups that make it all possible-- Sat, Nov 13 from 3pm, at Los Angeles Theatre Center, downtown.  Strong opinions and colorful personalities guaranteed.

The Edge Fest also coincides with Theatre L.A.'s annual Ovation Awards, with the City of Los Angeles' celebration of Performing Arts: Showcase LA Theater Week (TM), and with the Mark Taper Forum's New Works Festival.

Come be a part of your zeitgeist.

P.S.  Did I just write that "zeitgeist" thing?  Ich.
